Bob W. Grayson, Jr. has been an independent oil operator in Bakersfield, California and surrounding areas since the 1970s. His experience in the industry began while working directly with his father Bob Grayson, Sr. at Grayson Service Company in Bakersfield, where they built a business that sustained some of the most challenging times faced in the oil industry. During his time at Grayson Service Company, he managed a fleet of 30 well service units including cementing units, wireline units and vacuum trucks. In addition to the well servicing business, he also managed and operated a fishing tool company under Grayson Service Company.

After spending almost 25 years supporting the operations of the family-owned business, Bob W. Grayson Jr. accepted the position of West Coast Operations Manager with an organization by the name of Torch Rig Services, Inc. During his time in this role he managed over 120 employees and a fleet of 25 well servicing, coil tubing and cementing units. At this time he also managed a fishing tool company under Torch Rig Services, Inc. In 2006, Excalibur Well Service, Inc. acquired the assets of Torch Rig Services, Inc., at which time the Company was generating over $20 million in annual service revenues.

Shortly after the acquisition, Bob W. Grayson Jr. elected to establish Rival Well Services, Inc. He now manages an organization of over 40 employees and a fleet of 18 well service units, 9 well servicing pumps and cementing units and 2 coil tubing units generating over $10 million in annual revenues.

Throughout Bob W. Grayson Jr.’s extensive career, his business focus and expertise has been predominantly within areas of well abandonments, well reabandonments, well completions and well recompletions. He has also supported several projects throughout California including the Stolt-Comex Seaways Offshore Platform Decommissioning project in 2000. Additionally, he has managed projects and delivered results for several well-known customers within the California oil industry including: Chevron, Exxon, Nuevo Energy, Unocal, and the State of California.
